The loss of two dear golfing friends
Both St Mary’s church in Ruabon and the Bersham Crematorium, Wrexham, were packed to capacity for the respective funerals of Allan Jeffreys of the Vale of Llangollen golf club, and Mary K. Jones of the Wrexham golf club, whose funerals were held just one hour apart last Tuesday.
My first allegiance would normally be to one of our own members, but in this case, a friendship of over forty five years with Allan meant that I had the difficult choice to make by attending St Mary’s Ruabon and pay my respects to an old golfing partner and loyal friend who will be sadly missed by us all.
Mary was equally well supported by a vast number of friends and members as was indicated by the capacity of the crematorium being achieved quite comfortably.
Their respective memories will remain with us for a very long time to come.
